Linda Barton
Principal

Linda started as the Long Bay School principal in Term One 2011.

Linda has been a teacher for many years, she has strong senior management experience and has worked with students from New Entrant to Year 8 level. During her career Linda has worked in a range of wonderful Auckland schools from urban to rural, from 100 to over 1000 students (Whenuapai, Taupaki, Glen Eden Intermediate and Waioneke).

Linda is passionate about teaching, and enjoys working with her colleagues and being part of a school community.

In their spare time Linda and her husband Bruce love outdoor activities like fishing and camping, and enjoy spending time with their family. Being grandparents to their two little grandsons is a special joy.

Peter Lloyd
Property Manager

Peter served his apprenticeship as a motor mechanic with J W Andrews Ford in Auckland before working for the Auckland City Council for 14 years as a diesel engineer in the field service.

After 12 years in the trucking business he completed a six year stint back in his original trade, building classic and rally cars.

Peter started to work at Long Bay Primary ten years ago and loves it. In his own words: "Working with kids is great fun and very rewarding."

Betty Knoppert
Teacher Aide

Born and educated in The Netherlands, Betty arrived in New Zealand in 1971 and worked as a nurse in Selwyn Village for three years.

After settling in Torbay, her family became one of the foundation families of Long Bay Primary School. Her five sons enjoyed their learning, made lifelong friends and have fond memories of this school.

Betty joined the staff in 1995 as a teacher aide and enjoys working with the students.

Her favourite things are: family, friends, home & garden, coffee and going for walks at Long Bay Beach.
