REFUND UPDATE – School Production – Juke Box Drama

A quick update regarding the ticket purchase refunds:
The refund process can take 10-14 days to go through, given the high amount of cancellations and postponements happening at the moment it could potentially be longer.

Given we are at Level 3 and Ticketmaster is a non-essential service their call centre is closed but they are operating from home to answer customer queries via email.  If the customer booked online they can log into their account and use this to send a query or they can send a help ticket on this link – https://help.ticketmaster.co.nz/hc/en-nz/articles/360019603457

Principal’s Chat

Kia ora koutou Long Bay Whanāu

We have now spent five and a half weeks at Alert Level 4. Again, on behalf of our full staff, I thank our whole community for your support for your child/ren’s home learning and connecting with their class and teacher. We are all so looking forward to the Alert Level change so we can return to school life as we know it.

Meanwhile, our staff are so enjoying engaging with your children, and we know that we really are blessed with being in such a lovely community.

If you belong to the Long Bay Primary Facebook page you will see there is also a new colouring competition for the children – see below for details (a big thank you to Jo Clark for setting this up).

A few sites that may be of use to parents are listed below:

The first is a short, but helpful and useful,  video hosted by Dr Hinemoa Elder and Nathan Wallis with lockdown tips for whanau and communities.  https://parents.education.govt.nz/essential-information/covid-19-information-for-parents-and-whanau/lockdown-tips-with-dr-hinemoa-elder-and-nathan-wallis/

There is also the Covid website where you can find reputable information about our country’s Covid response. https://covid19.govt.nz/
One of the current key messages is
from Dr Ashley Bloomfield is about the goal for vaccinations: “A total of 79 percent of Aucklanders have now received one dose, with a goal of 90 percent by the time Cabinet considers the next alert level change in two weeks.”

We do know that financially this can be a difficult time as well, so another site is the Ministry of Social Development (MSD), which outlines how MSD may be able to assist with essential costs. MSD has advised encouraging people to check what they’re eligible for via this website Check what you might get (msd.govt.nz)

I wish you all the best in the lockdown, and will email our community again prior to school resuming when more is known about level changes at that time.

Linda

Sports Buzz – Term 3, Week 9

School Fun Run – This will still go ahead, so keep fundraising!
The School Fun Run is the major fundraiser for the school and PTA this year and we would love for everyone to get behind it.

Please note that the Fun Run will still go ahead as we can be more flexible around group sizes. We will confirm the date once we know more about Alert Level changes.

If all children were fundraising online it would make such a difference. All profit is going to enhancing the environment for our students, and students collecting sponsors also get the chance to earn prizes.

Yummy Stickers

This is the last term for collecting Yummy stickers, so whether you are already in full swing or just starting, there is still time to earn some sports gear for our school. Bring any charts to the office at the start of Term 4.

Touch Rugby

Touch Rugby is still available in the Kindo/LBP Shop – it’s for any students in Years 1-6. For more information, click on the Touch Rugby tab in the LBP Shop.
