Kia Ora, and welcome to Long Bay Primary School.
We have a very dedicated staff and are proud of our positive links with the local community and the close partnerships that have been established between the child, home and school.
The feedback our teachers provide to their students provides them with the tools, guidance and opportunity to become more competent, skillful and better at understanding how to learn. This helps them to reflect on themselves as learners and become an active participant in their own educational experiences.
Our school mission statement is to ‘provide high quality whole child education that inspires students to become confident, connected, actively-involved life-long learners.’ We aspire for each of our students to enjoy their time at Long Bay. Our students take part in regular specialist classes in the arts (visual art, drama and music) and have the opportunity to be involved in a range of sporting, academic and cultural learning experiences as they move through the school.
Long Bay Primary caters for students from New Entrant level through to Year 6. Our classes are divided into six teaching teams: Kōwhai (New Entrant – Year 1), Rimu (Year 2), Manuka (Year 3), Nikau (Year 4), Tōtara (Year 5/6) and Kauri (Year 5/6).
Please take your time to look through our website to get a feel for what makes our school so special. If you have any questions or would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the school office and we will be more than happy to help.
Kind regards,
