With fine weather forecast for the next couple of days all systems are go for the arrival of our new classrooms.
There has been a change of plans. The crane will now arrive today between 12:30pm and 2:30pm to allow preparation time before it gets dark tonight. We have a secure compound and accessway to ensure that everyone stays safe. The two classrooms will arrive overnight on the back of trucks and be inside the compound ready for the morning when we arrive at school.
The first lift is scheduled for 7:00am, you are welcome to come and watch, however we ask that everyone keep behind the tape and outside the exclusion zone for your safety. Room 15, 12, 10, 9 and 8 will not be accessible until the crane has finished. We ask all of those students to report to the hall where they will meet their teachers until the crane boom has been lowered. The plan is this will be before 9:00am, however plans and reality are sometimes different! Access to Room 13, 14 and 26 will be via the back of the school.
Metal plates will be installed across the footpath on Ralph Eagles place today to protect the new concrete from damage. Crossing in this area will be supervised this afternoon and tomorrow. Buses will run as normal. As soon as the crane leaves the site the plates will be removed.
The short term pain of the next couple of days should help to keep us on track and have the rooms ready to occupy during Term 3.
